It’s always a bliss when the author of a webcomic you really enjoy re-blogs your stuff.
While the comic is on hiatus I plan to write some long overdue recommendations for comics I’ve been keeping up with, Carrion Girls was one I was working on for a while but barely found to time to add the finishing touches (and now I’m not even satisfied and want to re-do it eventually). The Sisters, Miss Melee, and Kiwi Day N (I had recommended this one previously, but deleted the art because I wasn’t satisfied with it today) are other comics.
In other news, Richard works his hardest to keep the comic PG!
okay, since it’s not Maddie’s fault she missed, here’s the scoop –

In Maddie’s culture, women did manual chores. They had the same effect on stone-age / dark-age female upper body strength that regular workouts do on women today (and men). If a tribe produced a tomboy (Maddie) uninterested in the village chores, she’s still got the genetic propensity – and it would help her as a warrior.
You’re right that Maddie’s upper body strength wouldn’t have been too unusual for a peasant girl who does back-breaking work from dusk ’til dawn.
I’ll just say, though, Maddie would be very offended at you calling her a tomboy! She fits in perfectly in her tribe’s gender roles!
